In Washington, Senator Barbara Boxer created more problems for herself by belittling Brigadier General Michael Walsh during a committee hearing on Tuesday. Footage of the exchange has quickly become a national news story at a time when Boxer is preparing for a re-election bid next year. Watch it here.

JULY 2009 MEETING

The July 2009 meeting of the San Benito County Republican Party will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. The meeting will be in the conference room at Mars Hill Coffee Shop, 610 San Benito Street, Hollister, CA 95023. The meeting will be called to order at 7:00 PM.

Come early and enjoy the coffee.

The public is invited.

ORGANIZATION MEETING

The biannual organizational meeting of the San Benito County Republican Party for the 2009-2010 term was called to order on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the Community Room of Pacific Valley Bank, 260 Tres Pinos Road, Hollister, CA. The meeting started at 7:00 PM.

A temporary Chairman was selected and new members were inducted. There were ten members installed with three in waiting. (There were not enough forms.)

Marvin Jones was elected Chairman, John Lemos Vice-Chairman, and Julia Moehring was elected Secretary. A treasurer was not elected.

Plans for the coming term were discussed. There will continue to be voter registration activities. More emphasis will be placed on educating the county on Republican core values.

The core values of the Republican Party are :

1. LOWER TAXES,
2. SMALLER GOVERNMENT,
3. INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY, and
4. STRONG NATIONAL DEFENSE.

Republicans have learned that lower tax rates stimulate business generating more jobs and even more tax revenue.
Recently, Republicans have embraced larger government. That is the hallmark of the Democrats and such behavior contributed to the defeat of Republicans in 2006 and 2008.
Republicans have always emphasized individual liberty and the responsibility that goes with freedom. Government handouts to either individuals or corporations are Democrat values. Republicans should remember that.
Both Republicans and Democrats want a safe and secure United States. Republicans generally have the position that we have to protect and defend ourselves where the Democrats seem to have the position of depending on organizations such as the United Nations.

How important are local elections? READ THIS

The San Benito County Republican Party is the official, legally recognized committee of the Republican Party in the county. The mission of the San Benito County Republican Party is to elect Republicans to public office. The approach is to register Republicans and then see that they vote.

In our county, the Republican Party actively works to support quality Republican candidates for public office at every level. These individuals can then put the Republican principles of
     lower taxes,
         smaller government,
         personal responsibility and
         strong national defense
into action. The strength of our party comes not only from the power of our ideas, but from the combined efforts of Republican volunteers and donors.

The San Benito Republican Party is the Republican Central Committee per the California Election Codes 7400-7413.
