2008 LINCOLN-REAGAN DAY DINNER IN
SAN BENITO COUNTY

March 15 - – It is fitting for local Republican Parties to have an event recognizing the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President of the United States. We were very fortunate to have Tim Morgan, Treasurer of the Republican National Committee to be our speaker for the 2008 Lincoln-Reagan Dinner.	Tim and Judy Morgan
Richard and Sally Bettencourt	About 30 Republicans gathered at Paine’s Restaurant on March 15 for the event. Persons of note that were present included Jeff Taylor, candidate for congress in the 17th congressional district and two incumbent San Benito County Supervisors standing for reelection this summer.
The supervisors are Anthony Botelho, District 2, and Jaime de la Cruz, District 5. Marsha Wilcher, President of the San Benito County Republican Women Federated was also present.

After enjoying fellowship and dinner, Tim Morgan spoke of many of President Lincoln’s achievements as well as obstacles he overcame. Tim compared many of the events of the 1860’s with the world events of today.

The talk was well received with a lively discussion after. A good time was had by all.
