DEMOCRATIC
CULTURE OF CORRUPTION

          NUNEZ AGAIN
January 23 - Nunez is under investigation again. This time it is an ethic matter that looks like money laundering.

It seems he funneled over a quarter million dollars from charitable organizations into political activities. Nunez’s staff apparently directed a charity to give gifts to his constituents. Nunez received credit for the gifts.

That is another reason to vote no on Proposition 93. A yes vote on 93 would allow Nunez and others to stay in office longer, 6 more years in Nunez’a case.

You can check out the details here.

      PERATA THIS TIME
December 22 - California State Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata Has been under investigation for years for illegal campaign contributions or kickbacks. The justice department has stepped up its investigation of him.

           MORE NUNEZ
December 16 - Fabian Nunez, Speaker of the Assembly, is still being criticized for his extravagant travels and spending habits using campaign funds. The FPPC is investigating his practices.

Will the FPPC come down hard on the second most powerful man in Sacramento? We will have to wait and see.

There seems to be little doubt Nunez has abandoned his ‘champion of the poor’ stance for the political power and a lavish lifestyle. REFERENCE

   SENATOR MIDGEN
      IN HOT WATER

November 3 - Another Democrat lawmaker in Sacramento has run into the campaign funding/spending buzz saw. Senator Carole Midgen, (D San Francisco) is being investigated by the Fair Political Practice Commission for not keeping proper records on $397,000 in campaign expenditures.

"Expenses are required to be itemized so we can assure that campaign donations are going to expenses related to campaigns and not toward personal profit or other inappropriate expenses," said Kathay Feng, executive director of California Common Cause, a nonpartisan advocacy group.

Another reason not to modify term limits. REFERENCE

        HILLARY IS AT IT
               AGAIN

November 4 – There were at least two (2) episodes of Hillary Clinton taking money from Chinese donors and having to return it. Now it has been reported she has taken thousands of dollars in cash donations from ISLAMISTS under federal investigation for terror-financing, money laundering and tax fraud. REFERENCE

        Nunez at it again
November 3 - Assembly Speaker Faien Nunez is dancing on the edge of campaign finance violations. His use of non-profit monies to fund events planned by his staff to support Proposition 93 are close to the line. The Fair Political Practice Commission will have the final say. OH WELL. REFERENCE

If Prop 93 passes in January 2008 Nunez can be elected to the assembly for two additional terms. ANOTHER REFERENCE

HILLARY’S NEW YORK CHINA CONNECTION

October 20 – We have heard about the San Francisco connection to Norman Hsu. Hillary returned $850,000.

Recently there was a fund raiser in New York Chinatown where she raised $380,000 and had to return about $7,000 to several donors. Other donors could not be found; still other $1000 donors were not registered to vote or had jobs that paid very low wages. REFERENCE

NUNEZ'S WANTS MORE

October 19 - Numez plays the victim over allegations of abuse of campaign contribution. And he has privately asked all 47 Assembly Democrats to donate about $50,000 apiece to help pass a February initiative that would modify term limits and allow them more time in their current seats. That way, they could solicite more campaign contributions. REFERENCE

NUNEZ'S FUNNY MONEY

October 11 - Even California Democrats are not immune to questionable campaign spending practices. Scroll down to Fabian Nunez’s top 10 excuses for some interesting spending habits.

HILLARY'S FUNNY MONEY

September 20 - Remember the CULTURE OF CORRUPTION? Now the shoe is on the Democrats foot.

The September 16 entry below listed prominent Democrats that accepted money from Norman Shu. Norman Shu is to be indicted sometimes today in New York. Here are two references. FIRST and SECOND.

It was just 10 days ago when Hillary Clinton returned $850,000 in Hsu donations. HILLARY REFERENCE Hillary & Shu

And then there is Congressman Jefferson (D, LA) that was caught with $90,000 of bribe money in his freezer. Gives a new meaning to COLD CASH REFERENCE. .

Why has this not received as much media coverage as the Abramoff scandal? Is O.J. more important?

DEMOCRATS COLLECT QUESTIOABLE DONATIONS

September 16 - Norman Hsu is back in jail for alleged fraud perpetrated over 16 years ago. Hsu is under federal investigation for allegedly violating election laws. The FBI is probing whether he paid so-called straw donors to send campaign contributions to selected politicians.

The list of politicians who benefited from Hsu’s largesse reads like a "Who’s Who" of the Democratic Party. The list includes:

            New York Sen. Hillary Clinton
            Illinois Sen. Barack Obama
            Nevada Sen. Harry Reid
            California Sen. Barbara Boxer
            California Sen. Dianne Feinstein

            New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson
            Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy
            Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry
            Minnesota Senatorial candidate Al Franken
            Florida Sen. Bill Nelson
            West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller
            Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy
            Former Tennessee Rep. Harold Ford
            Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack
            Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin
            New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg
            Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell

Since 2004, Hsu has donated $260,000 to Democratic Party groups and federal candidates, and raised hundreds of thousands of additional dollars. He was regarded as a top party fundraiser until reports surfaced recently that he was wanted on a warrant in California in connection with a 1991 grand theft charge, and he was arrested on Sept. 12.
